Excerpt of a video piece performed with live singing about travel as connected to loss.
Performed at the Nightingale at part of Shapeshifters, Chicago 2013.
Si Si Shi
Si means yes in Spanish and Shi has multiple meaning in Japanese depending on how it is used or written, poem, death, city, four and Mr. The title when just spoken sounds like sea sea she. All of these words and ideas connect to the piece's themes of nomadism, place and translation. SiSiShi explores times of transition such as morning and night, beginnings and endings as well as arrivals and departures. SiSiShi is a collaboration between myself and Alyssa Moxley (sound artist/musician) and Clemens Klinkert (beatboxer and visual artist).
